The Sydney Cabaret Showcase has a proud history and vision, to search for and support Australia’s next cabaret stars.

Sydney Cabaret Showcase will present new and emerging performers, discover unique and wonderful stories, and unleash extraordinarily diverse talent.

Cabaret has a rich history in Australia - and this showcase follows in the footsteps of the Your Theatrics cabaret competition which discovered a decade of artists who’ve all gone on to bright futures in the industry, previous winners include Tom Sharah, Melody Beck, Alexis Fishman, Toby Francis, Sheridan Harbridge, Marika Aubrey and Gillian Cosgriff.

Cabaret is a funny, undefinable beast. We know it combines any mixture of singing, drama, performance, comedy or art – which is where the wonder lies. As we learned in 2019, it can be about anything - relationships, food, memoir, satire, politics, sex, body hair, death and even Dubbo (as last year’s winner Billie Palin proclaimed)!

Which is why it’s our privilege to find…excuse our lack of a more unique phrase….Australia’s next Cabaret Star.
